Our Speaker:
Dr. E. Allen Griffith
Dr. Griffith has served the Lord for over 40 years in full time ministry. Allen and Patricia Griffith were married on August 21, 1965 and took the pastoral ministry of Bible Baptist Church, West Chester, PA on October 30, 1967. Allen was saved at evangelistic services in 1963. The Griffiths have five children and seventeen grandchildren.
During the Griffith’s years of ministry, Bible Baptist Church grew from 29 in 1967 to a constituency of almost 1,000 in 1993. Pastor Griffith founded West Chester Christian School, Bible Baptist School of Theology and Christian Character Clubs. The church initiated the planting of five new churches and maintained a strong missions program. Pastor Griffith hosted the Higher Ground radio broadcast and wrote the Would You Believe? newspaper series for over 15 years.
On December 31, 1993, the Griffiths resigned the pastorate of Bible Baptist Church to found Biblical Family Ministries. BFM was incorporated in October 1993 and began ministry activities in January of 1994. Along with BFM responsibilities, Dr. Griffith pastored Faith Baptist Church of Chester County, PA from August 1998 to December 2001.
As Executive Director of Biblical Family Ministries, Dr. Griffith preaches on the family and other Biblical topics at churches, camps, conferences and schools. He and Mrs. Griffith carry on a counseling ministry at the BFM Ministry Center in Myerstown, PA. Through BFM, Dr. Griffith has produced a growing variety of tapes, booklets and books on the family and other topics of concern.
General Information
Dress
The dress for the weekend is casual. Please do not bring any alcohol or tobacco products. In addition to this, please bring the following: a Bible, notebook, pen or pencil, flashlight, pillowcase, sheets/blankets or sleeping bag, towels, camera, extra money for bookstore, snack shack.
Extra Night
Those wishing to come Thursday night and spend a relaxing day on Friday prior to the retreat are welcome. There will be an additional cost of $15.00 per person. No meals will be provided. Please indicate that you will be arriving early on the registration form.
Accommodations
Accommodations are reserved on a first received registration basis. Please call if you need specific information on availability. There is a $25 non-refundable reservation fee due per person. Linens are only provided in apartment accommodations.
Golfing
Golfing is not included in the price of the retreat. If you are interested in golfing there are several local courses to which you will be directed. You are responsible to schedule your tee time for your group.
Skeet Shooting
The price for skeet shooting is $8.00 per round of 25. Please feel free to bring your own weapons-either 12 or 20 gauge. In compliance with New Jersey gun laws, please do not transport your weapon unless properly broken apart and in a case. You must also have in your possession a firearms permit/ID card. Please do not transport ammunition. This will be provided by the camp.
