PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

The Philosophy at Tri-State is to do all things to the glory of God.  I Cor. 10:31

To glorify God means to raise the opinion of God.  In Matt. 5:16, Christ says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven”.   In John 15:8 Christ again states, “Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples”.  In Chapter 15 Christ continues to teach in regards to fruitfulness. There is a progression: first to fruit, by pruning or cleansing through the Word of God; then from fruit to more fruit through a life of answered prayer.

The way to glorify God is by having a correct relationship through Jesus Christ.  In other words, we glorify or raise the opinion of God only through Christ.  Colossians 1:27 states “To whom God would make known His riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of Glory”.  The hope of raising the opinion of God is made possible only through acceptance in Jesus Christ.

Our main goal at Tri-State Bible Camp is and always shall be “To Glorify God”, to raise the opinion of God to those to whom we minister.  We, therefore, will center our programs and activities on Christ, introducing Him to many who have not heard and edifying others through His Word by the teaching of the Scriptures.

With that as our goal, our emphasis is to develop in three main areas.

 1. Program

 2. Promotion

 3. Property

All programs initiated, all promotional material sent out, all property improvements whether new or refurbished, must first answer the question, “Is it to the Glory of God”?  If we cannot honestly say that it is, than we will not continue that program, we will not present the ministry in that fashion, we will not build that building.

James 4:3 tells us that we ask amiss and therefore we do not receive.  We need to build Tri-State for the correct purpose.  Our purpose should not be to be bigger than other camps, nor to lure people away from other camps, but rather to have a biblical basis for OUR camp.  That biblical basis should be to “Glorify God”.  This should be our one and only goal achieved through our promotion, program, and property ministries.

We need to then take this goal that we have developed and according to James 1:5-6, be confident and move forward, not foolishly but also not wavering.  We need to have full confidence that God wants us to have a direction and purpose for our camp.

Therefore, all those who minister at Tri-State, whether as staff, counselors, or speakers in any capacity, must follow the philosophy of raising the opinion of God through this ministry.
